Day 4 - Get Ur Beer On

After a really early night, giving in to jet lag we both woke up feeling human for the first time since getting here. Headed to Shibuya on the metro to find a gluten free place I had found on Trip Advisor, but realised I had forgotten my £4 transparent plastic umbrella at the hotel (they are all the rage here)... Luckily someone left me anther one as a gift on the Metro (as in they forgot it), so I gratefully accepted this and we carried on our way.

Little Bird Gluten Free cafe is on the 3rd floor of a building, this is one of the ways this place uses space so well (although it can make some establishments hard to find as we had found out previously). This building:

 Has this sign:

So you go up the stairs/lift and find a little delightful place like this:

Great food, we both had the day's special of teriyaki Little Bird burger (instead of a bun it was all wrapped up in some kind of yorkshire pudding pizza base effect type of thing). We were accompanied by a couple of very apologetic antipodeans whose little angel was screaming the place down unremittingly, much to their embarrassment, but it really didn't bother us. I completely understood the kid just wanted a Happy Meal, not this gluten free nonsense.

Then we headed through Yoyogi park towards Harajuku, and saw a couple of interesting things... a gravity defying tree:

An interesting sign Ilya spotted outside the Ladies!

And another on how to avoid unnecessary attention:

Had a little walk down the world famous (apparently) Takeshita (not toilet humour, the actual name of it, promise) and saw some delights:

Found ourselves in a place we had added to the map two years ago but never made it to. Goodbeer Faucets in Shubuya, where they proudly boast 40 beers on tap, the Spy had the taster set:

Came out of there and someone had taken my recently gifted umbrella, so I nabbed someone else's... with the Spy's assurance there was a system and it was OK.

After a few more we headed back to the hotel to freshen up and head to the Craft Beer Market in Shimbashi, which we loved last time. A few more beers and some really tasty food later we headed back to the hotel bar to finish with a nightcap... or 3.

I have a headache this morning... not sure why!
